Job summary

PowerSchool in Charlotte, NC seeks a middle school teacher under moderate supervision to deliver instruction, monitor and evaluate students, and develop lesson plans aligned with district goals.

You will implement NC standards, adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners, administer tests, and maintain records for IEPs and 504 plans while collaborating with administrators and parents to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students
• Prepare for classes assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request
• Diagnose the learning challenges of students on a regular basis, maintaining accurate records for IEPs and 504 plans
• Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students including those with disabilities and limited English proficiency
• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities
• Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct
• Attend PLC and staff meetings for data analysis and instructional planning
• Perform safety functions/drills to maintain a safe instructional environment
• Observe and assess students' performance, behavior, and development
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and priorities
• Prepare and implement enrichment programs and remediation
• Participate in professional development focused on acquiring and improving skills
