Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated teacher of record in Washington state to deliver live and asynchronous instruction, meet state standards, and support student achievement.

You will use a Learning Management System, differentiate instruction, monitor progress, and communicate with families about growth and welfare.

This role requires a state teaching license, knowledge of standards, strong communication, and comfort working in a multicultural school environment.

Qualifications

  • Current state teaching license in the appropriate content area.
  • Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
  • High‑level comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • High‑quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information.
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Washington state residency preferred.
  • Two years’ teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor.
  • Work to meet student achievement, culture, and state-specific academic accountability goals.
  • Deliver live lessons via web conference based on student need.
  • Complete course setup in the Learning Management System.
  • Monitor asynchronous course progress and provide daily assignment feedback and grades.
  • Track and maintain contact with each student.
  • Collaborate with the Principal on student progress reports.
  • Review student‑level data and adjust instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction for all students.
  • Use research‑based practices in synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
  • Create a joyful, caring classroom environment.
  • Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
  • Communicate with families about students’ academic and social‑emotional growth.
  • Incorporate 21st‑Century technology skills into classroom and team practices.
  • Plan and implement non‑instructional activities, including social events and field trips.
  • Attend student events in person.
  • Collaborate and communicate with colleagues.
  • Travel to support required face‑to‑face state testing annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
