Hebrew Public Charter Schools is seeking a Middle School Learning Specialist (Math) to provide targeted SETSS math instruction to students with IEPs, in small-group settings, while aligning with goals and mandates. The role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff to refine teaching practices and support NYS exam readiness.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred), a Special Education certification, and experience with NYC DOE SETSS models and IEP processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree a plus.
• Special Education certification (SWD, grades 7–12 or K–12) required or in progress.
• Familiarity with NYC DOE SETSS delivery models and CSE processes is a strong plus.
• Experience writing or implementing IEPs, including present levels, measurable goals, and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build a classroom culture that fosters a love of Math.
• Provide high-quality math instruction in small intervention groups.
• Create lesson plans and activities aligned to student goals.
• Deliver SETSS per IEP frequency and duration requirements.
• Coordinate with general education teachers to align SETSS with core instruction.
• Maintain progress notes per NYC DOE and CSE requirements.
• Participate in IEP meetings and annual reviews.
• Communicate with families about IEP goals and progress.
• Coordinate with related service providers for cohesive support.
• Analyze student work and data to drive gains.
• Prepare students for NYS State Exams.
• Develop relationships to support school culture and academics.
• Maintain efficient data gathering processes.
