Qualifications

Position Summary

Manteno Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher from approximately November 23, 2026 - March 10, 2027.

The ideal candidate will create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters academic growth, social-emotional development, and a love of learning. This role involves planning and delivering instruction aligned with curriculum standards, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues, families, and staff to support student success.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Valid Illinois Substitute Teaching License or Professional Educator's License
• Valid LBS1 Certification preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development and instructional best practices
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools

Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned by Administration

Salary & Benefits

• Daily Rate of $140.57
• After the 20th consecutive day, the salary changes to the per diem of a first year teacher with a Bachelor's Degree with no additional credit hours (~$237.00/day)
