5th Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher

School Year: 2026–2027

Position Dates: Approximately December 11, 2026, through the end of the 2026–2027 school year

Description: The District is seeking a qualified 5th Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide high-quality instruction within a general education classroom setting. This position will begin approximately December 11, 2026, and continue through the end of the 2026–2027 school year.

The substitute teacher will be responsible for continuing the instructional program established for the classroom, supporting student learning and maintaining a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional and classroom management skills, establish positive relationships with students, and work collaboratively with grade-level teams, support staff, and families to promote student success.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) appropriate for the assignment
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred
• Elementary Education endorsement preferred/required as applicable
• Previous teaching or classroom experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Compensation

$250 per day
