Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging 7th grade Social Studies instruction aligned to grade-level standards and established classroom plans.

• Implement classroom routines, procedures, and expectations.
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, support staff, and administration.
• Communicate appropriately with students, families, and staff.
• Maintain accurate student records and complete required documentation.
• Participate in professional development, meetings, and school activities as appropriate.
• Support the District's educational philosophy, goals, and student achievement initiatives.

Description:
The District is seeking a qualified 7th Grade Social Studies Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide high-quality instruction within a general education classroom setting. This position will begin approximately January 9, 2027, and continue for approximately 12 weeks.

The substitute teacher will be responsible for continuing the instructional program established for the classroom, supporting student learning, and maintaining a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional and classroom management skills, establish positive relationships with students, and work collaboratively with grade-level teams, support staff, and families to promote student success.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Social Studies endorsement
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred
• Middle school teaching experience preferred

Physical Demands:

• Ability to read and communicate effectively with employees and students of the District

Compensation:

$250 per day
