This Appendix F stipend role includes 18 hours of before/after-school rehearsals, two school-based performances, and responsibility for managing finances and paperwork for the organization. Illinois licensure is preferred, with prior jazz band teaching experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong musical skills required.
• Previous experience teaching jazz band preferred.
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with parents, students, administrators, teachers, and community leaders.

Responsibilities

• Implement researched-based instructional strategies engaging all students and differentiate for ability levels.
• Seek administrative counsel regarding budgets and spending procedures.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, administrators, teachers, and community leaders.
• Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior; motivate students.
• Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
• Create an environment conducive to learning and development.
• Cultivate a positive, harassment-free instructional culture.
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Apply and enforce student conduct per Code of Conduct and band handbook.
• 18 hours of before- or after-school rehearsals.
• 2 school-based performances and/or district or regional festivals.
• Supervise students before and after events and during rides.
• Manage Finances and Administrative Paperwork for the Organization.
