Amigos School at Cambridge Public Schools seeks a part-time Latin Jazz Band Director to lead an after-school Latin Jazz Band for 6th–8th grade students. Immediate starting date with a contract running Oct 23, 2026–May 28, 2027, and a flat rate of $1,700.

The role requires teaching in Spanish and coordinating rehearsals and performances, fostering improvisation and ensemble skills in a Band program within the Visual & Performing Arts department.

Qualifications

• Must speak Spanish and be able to teach in Spanish.
• Direct and mentor musicians in 6th–8th grade at Amigos School.
• Coordinate rehearsals and learning in Latin Jazz music.
• Create and commit to a full year of rehearsals with performances.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Amigos School Latin Jazz Band after-school program.
• Plan and coordinate rehearsals, performances, and concerts.
• Support student improvisation and study of Latin Jazz styles.
