Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist at Cornerstone Academy - Middle School in Westerville, Ohio, to support students with IEPs and behavioral goals in an inclusive classroom environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, data-driven instruction, and culturally responsive practices. Salary ranges from $51,500 to $55,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or co-teaching in a resource room model.
• High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting abilities/disabilities and assisting in intervention strategies.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals/objectives.
• Meet goals related to student achievement and culture and state goals.
• Use research-based best practices in planning/instruction.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons.
• Serve as advisor for designated students.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan/participate in non-instructional activities (social events, field trips).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
