Job summary

North Haven Middle School is seeking an ILS Paraeducator to assist students with disabilities under the guidance of certified staff and the IEP. This role supports instructional programs and data collection across multiple settings.

Responsibilities include aiding communication and behavior management, using various instructional strategies, and sharing progress with the team. Training in de-escalation and safety may be provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Associate's Degree; ParaPro Test completion by March 1, 2026.
• Experience with children with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to use technology (Google) to support instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with communication, sensory, learning and behavioral needs under certified staff guidance.
• Use instructional and social/emotional strategies across settings (general ed, self-contained, resource, community).
• Collect behavioral, academic, social and communication data using charts or tables.
• Support learning strategies and independence, applying prompting as needed.
• Provide 1:1 support to small groups and communicate effectively with teachers and service providers.
