Job summary

Academies of Math and Science is seeking a data-driven Humanities Teacher to deliver standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction at our Phoenix campus. You will focus on reading, writing, and critical thinking to prepare students for high school, while maintaining a high-expectations classroom culture.

Differentiation, regular data review, and collaboration with grade-level teams are essential. This role emphasizes engaging instruction, family engagement, and ongoing professional growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required or Arizona teaching certification.
  • Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area is required or minimum of three years K–12 teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
  • Pass required background checks and obtain IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities.
  • Demonstrate a data-driven instructional mindset.
  • Collaborate with teammates and participate in professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks.
  • Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, informational text, argumentative and narrative writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking and listening skills.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional planning and targeted interventions.
  • Prepare students for high school literacy expectations through rigorous instruction and critical thinking.
  • Establish and maintain a structured, positive, high-expectations classroom environment.
  • Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress; lead conferences.
