Job summary

East Harlem Scholars Academies is seeking a Middle School History Teacher for an immediate start in New York, NY. You will work with your grade team and the instructional leadership team to deliver curriculum, provide strong instruction, and monitor student progress.

You will help create a positive classroom culture, mentor students, and participate in ongoing professional development to support racial equity and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and NYS certification (highly preferred).
• Expertise teaching History/Social Studies at the Middle School level or above.
• High professional and ethical standards.
• Experience with or interest in researching best practices in anti-racist pedagogy.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and communities.
• Belief that every student can learn with quality education.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
• Minimum of two years in relevant educational positions.
