Job description

Join to apply for the Middle School eSports Coach - Scott MS role at School City of Hammond.

Reports to the Director of Athletics and will work with the Director to devise a competition schedule each year and strategize on game selection.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Recruit and retain students for the eSports program.
  • Collaborate with other on-campus departments.
  • Initiate and run practice, competition, and team building activities.
  • Oversee and manage program budget.
  • Provide guidance and input on games selected for varsity and non-varsity competition.
  • Offer regular feedback on equipment upgrades, updates, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate off-season activity, practice schedules, and competition schedules.
  • Organize team travel when required.
  • Conduct camps, clinics, and promotional events to market the program to potential students and donors.
  • Monitor and mentor the academic and mental wellbeing of players.
  • Review agreements, contract deadlines, rules, and compliance within any associated league, conference, and affiliates.
  • Ensure all persons and functions of the program exemplify the character and mission of the college.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

  • Strong relationship-building skills.
Employment Information
  • Personnel are recommended annually by the building principal and approved by the Superintendent. Compensation will be determined by the School City of Hammond agreement.
  • Performance of the job will be evaluated annually.
