Job description

Join to apply for the Middle School eSports Coach - Scott MS role at Indianapolis Public Schools.

Reports to the Director of Athletics and will work with the Director to devise a competition schedule each year and strategize on game selection.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Recruit and retain students for the eSports program.
  2. Collaborate with other on-campus departments.
  3. Initiate and run practice, competition, and team-building activities.
  4. Oversee and manage the program budget.
  5. Provide guidance and input on games selected for varsity and non-varsity competition.
  6. Offer regular feedback on equipment upgrades, updates, and maintenance.
  7. Coordinate off-season activities, practice schedules, and competition schedules.
  8. Organize team travel when required.
  9. Conduct camps, clinics, and promotional events to market the program to potential students and donors.
  10. Monitor and mentor the academic and mental wellbeing of players.
  11. Review agreements, contract deadlines, rules, and compliance within leagues, conferences, and affiliates.
  12. Ensure all persons and functions of the program exemplify the character and mission of the school.
  13. Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Employment Information:

  • Personnel are recommended annually by the building principal and approved by the Superintendent. Compensation will be determined by the School City of Hammond agreement.
  • Performance of the job will be evaluated annually.
