Job summary

Sanford Middle School is seeking a full-time English/Language Arts Interventionist to support literacy across grades 5 and 6. The role emphasizes targeted tiered interventions and collaboration with teachers within the MTSS framework.

The candidate will deliver Tier 2/3 interventions, participate in MTSS team meetings, and assist in coaching peers and providing professional development opportunities for staff. Strong relationships with students and families are essential.

Qualifications

• Appropriate teaching certification required.
• Experience working with middle school students, preferably in grades 5–6.
• Strong understanding of literacy instruction, intervention strategies, and differentiated instruction.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
• Demonstrates patience, kindness, and compassion.
• Commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy interventions for students.
• Deliver push-in classroom support in collaboration with classroom teachers.
• Actively participate in and help facilitate the MTSS process and team meetings.
• Support instructional coaching efforts, including modeling effective literacy instruction.
• Assist in facilitating professional development opportunities for staff as appropriate.
• Collaborate positively and effectively with teachers, staff, and families.
