Job summary

The Environmental Charter Schools seeks a Dean’s Assistant for its middle schools to support the Dean of Student Culture and school operations. The role handles discipline paperwork, data entry, communications with parents and staff, supervision before/after school, and coordination of student-centered activities.

The position emphasizes confidentiality, collaboration with administrators, and a commitment to serving low-income students of color within a dynamic, mission-driven school community.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education High School; College Degree or Degree in Progress Preferred.
• Minimum Experience 1 year in school environment.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including verbal, written, listening.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators.
• Commitment to the success of all students and the ECS mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Supports implementation of student discipline processes and safety plans; inputs data into system.
• Understands middle school developmental needs.
• Responds to emails from parents, staff and teachers in a timely, professional manner.
• Supervises students on campus before/after school; monitors lunch.
• Facilitates student mediations and leads student-centered activities.
• Instructs students in appropriate behavior; prepares letters and attends meetings as needed.
• Assists with attendance efforts and reviews cumulative folders for support.
