Job summary

Roselle Park School District is seeking an anticipated School Counselor at Sherman Elementary School. The full-time, 10-month position starts August 2026 with duties including academic, career and social-emotional support, and managing 504 plans.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Educational Services Endorsement - School Counselor.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community groups.
• Broad knowledge of testing and evaluation, guidance program design and career information.
• Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, career and social emotional support to students in grades 6-8.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 220 students.
• Create, implement and manage Section 504 plans.
• Participate as a member of the I&RS team.
• Create and deliver school-wide programming to fulfill NJDOE initiatives.
• Serve as a parent/guardian point of contact for academic and school related concerns.
• Assist administration and staff with daily operations including arrival/dismissal and lunchtime coverage.
