Middle School Boys Soccer Assistant Coach (Fall 2026)

Fall 2026 | Grades 6–8 | Part-Time

Position Overview

Schechter Boston is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Middle School Boys Soccer Assistant Coach to support our Grades 6–8 boys soccer team during the fall season. This is an opportunity for a coach who enjoys working with middle school students and is committed to helping young athletes develop their soccer skills while building confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of the game.

The fall season runs from Sept 9th - Nov 11th.

Our middle school teams practice and compete on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. Practices are generally held from 3:15–4:15 p.m., with games taking place on Mondays and Wednesdays in lieu of practice. Game times and duration will be dependent on the location of the event.

This position offers a competitive coaching stipend of $1,500.

Key Responsibilities

Support the head coach in planning and leading engaging, developmentally appropriate soccer practices

Assist with teaching and reinforcing fundamental soccer skills, including shooting, passing, dribbling, offensive and defensive positioning, and game strategy

Provide individualized instruction and encouragement to players with varying levels of experience and ability

Assist the head coach with game preparation and provide coaching and support during competitions

Help create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging team environment where every student feels valued and supported

Model and promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and school spirit

Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset both on and off the court

Support communication with players, families, and school staff as appropriate

Collaborate with the head coach and school’s athletics staff to support a positive middle school athletics program

Maintain a safe environment and follow all school policies and expectations

Qualifications

Previous soccer coaching or playing experience; experience working with middle school-aged students is preferred

Knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, and strategies

Ability to effectively teach and encourage students with varying levels of experience and ability

Positive, patient, and encouraging approach to working with young athletes

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive team environment

Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, students, families, and school staff

Must complete all required school background checks and mandatory training
