Job summary

Academy of Dover Charter School is seeking a Middle School Boys Assistant Basketball Coach for the 26.27 Winter Season. The role reports to the Athletic Director and requires prior coaching experience, a solid understanding of DIAA rules, and completion of required background checks and clearances.

The assistant coach will plan daily practices, adapt strategies, promote sportsmanship, manage equipment, and ensure athletic and facility safety while maintaining strong communication with players

Qualifications

• Experience coaching middle school basketball.
• Firm knowledge of DIAA rules and regulations.
• Background check, child protection registry, TB test.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and organize daily practice plans.
• Adapt and modify coaching techniques and game plans.
• Promote positive relations with parents/guardians and community.
• Provide an atmosphere of good sportsmanship and player conduct.
• Comply with DIAA and Academy policies and regulations.
• Communicate information to players, parents, and administrators.
• Maintain equipment and uniforms inventory.
• Oversee safety of athletes and facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in coaching middle school basketball.
• Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of DIAA rules and regulations.
• Employment with the Academy of Dover is contingent upon successful completion of:
• Criminal Background Check
• Child Protection Registry
• TB Test
• Verification of Credentials and Past Employment
• Adherence to Academy Policies and Procedures

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY

• Plan, implement and organize daily practice plans.

• Provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and player conduct.
• Complies with all DIAA and Academy policies and regulations.
• Communicates thoroughly and effectively pre, post and in season information to players, parents/guardians and school administrators.
• Maintain and inventory all equipment and uniforms.
• Oversee the safety of the athletes and facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned in relation to the position.
