Job summary

The Mendon-Upton Regional School District is seeking a dynamic School Adjustment Counselor to join the counseling and student support team at Miscoe Hill Middle School, serving grades 5–8. The successful candidate will provide therapeutic, social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health support to students and collaborate with families and staff to develop and implement IEPs and services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, School Counseling, or a closely related field.
• Appropriate Massachusetts licensure as School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor, All Levels.
• Experience providing individual and/or group counseling to children or adolescents.
• Knowledge of clinical assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
• Knowledge and experience with behavioral assessment and intervention, positive behavioral supports, SEL, and skill development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling and provide direct therapeutic and social-emotional services.
• Provide counseling to students with emotional/behavioral/mental health challenges.
• Develop and monitor student goals related to regulation, coping, attendance and behavior.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and providers to develop student support plans.
• Maintain confidential counseling records and document progress.

Education
