Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting and pricing of new business under mentorship.
• Gain exposure to D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, K&R, and Cyber lines.
• Analyze financials and exposures across portfolios.
• Contribute to benchmarking and digital submission projects.
• Assist in claims review and professional representation at events.

About This Internship

Arch's internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.

About This Role

• Support the underwriting and pricing of new business under the guidance and mentorship of experienced underwriters.
• Gain exposure to coverage areas which may include Directors and Officers Insurance, Employment Practices Liability Insurance, Fiduciary Liability, Crime, Kidnap and Ransom, and Cyber Insurance.
• Complete financial and exposure analysis across the portfolio.
• Participate in division-specific underwriting previews of accounts.
• Contribute to benchmarking projects and other Ad Hoc projects as deemed appropriate.
• Assist in initiatives such as Digital Submission projects and File Audit Compliance.
• Complete claims review.
• Represent Arch and Executive Assurance professionally whether internally or externally at industry events.

Qualifications

• Actively completing area of study in Risk Management & Insurance, Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2028.
• Strong proficiency in understanding financial statements.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
• Strong analytical skillset, with a keen ability to think through issues
• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Work Arrangement

The program dates are June 2, 2027 - August 6, 2027.

This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 3 days onsite and 2 days from home.

This position is located in New York City, NY.

Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in New York City, NY, the hourly rate is $26 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
