Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Junior to Mid Software Engineerto support our Huntsvlle, AL location.

PeopleTec is looking for a talented Junior Software Engineer to join our innovative, fast-paced, forward-thinking team! You will participate in the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance software solutions. Experience is desired in modern technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Python, FastAPI, and React. Experience in emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Large Language Models (LLMs) is a plus. Duties:

• Build and maintain scalable web applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
• Develop APIs and backend systems using Python and FastAPI.
• Create responsive and dynamic user interfaces with React.
• Integrate AI capabilities, including LLMs and RAG pipelines, into software solutions.
• Research and apply the latest advancements in AI to solve business challenges.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

• 2-7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with all or some set of TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Python, FastAPI, and React.
• Understanding of system design, distributed systems, and architecture.
• Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with GitLab for code repositories and pipelines
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment composed of Government, Prime Contractor, Support Contractor, and other Government agencies/personnel.
• Candidate must be confident in his/her ability to work across a vast organizational structure to effectively communicate complex technical issues.
• Travel as required (estimated 10%).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's in STEM field.

Desired Skills:

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, particularly in RAG and LLMs.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and participation in agile teams, with experience in sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
