$50.00/yr - $70.00/yr

Title: Secret Software Applications Engineer

Location: Redstone Arsenal - Huntsville, AL - 5x Onsite

Type: 6-Month Contract to Hire - Will Convert to Full Time

Must have active Secret Security Clearance or Higher

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience
• Experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), including troubleshooting and maintenance
• Experience with Java, Tomcat
• Experience with Cloud Azure and/or AWS environments
• Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) with CAC authentication
• Have (or obtain within 3 months of start date) DoD 8570 Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or higher)
• Active Secret Security Clearance, or higher

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Programming experience with Visual Studio
• Programming experience with SQL database backends

Job Description

A company in Huntsville, AL is looking for a Secret Software Applications Engineer to join their team. This Engineer will be responsible for providing critical support for a suite of essential applications, including troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing these applications to ensure their continued reliability and performance. They will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies including Java, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL databases, and cloud platforms in a dynamic and challenging environment. Their responsibilities will include:

• Provide primary support for the following applications (4):
• CAFM (Java/Tomcat
• Empower (Perl scripting, GUI, SQL Database)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Maintain and optimize Java and Tomcat environments
• Develop and maintain SQL database backends
• Implement and support Single Sign-On (SSO) with CAC authentication
• Utilize and maintain Cloud Azure and AWS environments
• Participate in late-night maintenance windows to support patching and system updates
• De-conflict requests and requirements to ensure efficient problem resolution
• Work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

This position is onsite full-time at Redstone Arsenal, and the ideal candidate will quickly adapt to new situations, have a willingness to learn new technologies, and work well in a team environment. The pay rate is $50-70/hr depending on years and level of experience, education, and certifications. This role requires an Active Secret Clearance or higher.
