Job summary

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, seeks a Mid-Shift Shipper for our Columbus, OH Distribution Center. You will handle daily shipping operations, packing and shipping orders, and ensuring safe weights and packaging standards.

The role requires basic reading/writing, arithmetic abilities, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds. We offer a benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401k with company

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day operations of the shipping department.
• Packs and ships orders using correct box count and weight not exceeding 40 lb. limit.
• Inspects for damaged bags or boxes to maintain product quality.
• Assists with Freight, Heavy Duty and Next Day Air shipments, including Hazardous Material.
• Performs daily maintenance to sales orders to ensure correct quantities shipped.

Job description

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, is searching for a Mid-Shift Shipper for our Columbus, OH Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

• Performs the day-to-day operations of the shipping department.
• Packs and ships completed sales orders by using the correct number of boxes and stuffing not to exceed the 40 lb. weight standard set up by the shipping manager.
• Maintains the quality of the product by looking for damaged bags or boxes.
• Helps ship Freight orders and other special orders including Heavy Duty shipments and end of day for Next Day Air shipments, including Hazardous Material.
• Performs daily maintenance to sales orders to assure the correct quantity goes out including incompletes.

Qualifications

• This position requires the ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• This position requires the ability to concentrate and to communicate with management and co-workers regarding a shipment.
• This position requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions that pertain to each shipment.
• This position requires the ability to lift objects weighing seventy (70) pounds.
• This position requires a strong work ethic and some schedule flexibility.

Additional Information

• The pay rate is $20 per hour
• The hours are 11:00am - 7:30pm, Monday through Friday.
