Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking a Workplace Training Coach to deliver classroom and hands-on training on composite layup, repair, and manufacturing processes on the shop floor.

You will coach employees, evaluate performance, and help implement improvements in training materials and methods, while maintaining LMS records and collaborating with leadership to meet operational needs. A strong safety and quality mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in composite layup in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience with composite repairs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of composite materials, manufacturing processes, tooling, and quality standards.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training, or developing employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) or similar training management system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Positive attitude with a strong focus on safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Willing to work any assigned shift and accept shift changes as needed to support business and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment and reinforce compliance with company policies and procedures.

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. The Workplace Training Coaches will provides technical training, coaching, and instruction composite training and instruction for shop floor employees. Position Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in composite layup within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing composite repairs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of composite materials, manufacturing processes, tooling, and quality standards.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training, or developing employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) or similar training management system.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with composite repair certification or advanced composite repair techniques.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Experience with aerospace composite manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles.
  • Previous experience developing or delivering technical training in a manufacturing environment.

Summary Pay Range: $68,650 - $105,300
