Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking an experienced training designer to shape and deliver onboarding and professional certification programs.

You will develop engaging sessions and demos, coach new hires, and partner with departments to tailor learning experiences that align with evolving products and technologies. The role emphasizes instructional design best practices, collaboration with HR, and ensuring compliance with policies while supporting a strong, inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with sheet metal and/or composite materials, with a strong background in training, coaching, or mentoring.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and comfortable using eLearning authoring tools like Articulate or Adobe Captivate.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.

Position Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Subject matter expert with experience in instructional design (e.g., ADDIE) and motivating, engaging learners.
  • Familiar with multimedia tools for video/audio content creation (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, Audition).

Summary Pay Range – Mid-Level (Level 3): $68,650 - $105,300

Kansas Tax Credit

Join Spirit AeroSystems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
