Job summary

The Josef Group is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer in Tysons, VA to manage applications infrastructure across networks and provide on-call support to ensure 24/7 coverage. You will implement security controls, optimize performance, and contribute to design decisions with DevOps and development teams.

Requirements include 2+ years in system engineering or DevOps, CI/CD experience, and proficiency with Linux/Unix, Jenkins, Git, Python or Bash.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles.
• Proven experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
• Strong working knowledge of Jenkins, Linux/Unix, Git, and scripting languages (Python, Bash).

Responsibilities

• SystemDesign & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
• Security & Redundancy: Implement and maintain robust security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

The Systems Engineer is responsible the applications infrastructure across all networks. Technical support to make application security compliant. Responsible for tech precepts implementation and contractually responsible to be part of a 24/7 on call rotation.

Key Responsibilities
