Job summary

Frequentis USA Inc. seeks a skilled Systems Engineer for full-time, on-site work at client locations. You will integrate hardware and software, verify system function, and support production and field teams on safety-critical communications projects.

You will apply best-practice system engineering, troubleshoot complex issues, and document layouts, configurations, and build plans. Strong communication is essential for cross-team collaboration and successful deployments.

Qualifications

• BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3-9 years’ experience in Systems Engineering integrating, deploying, and supporting hardware and software in networking/communications.
• Demonstrates ability to implement and apply best-practice system engineering concepts.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on integration of software and hardware components, including installation and configuration.
• Implements and validates IT system solutions for networking and our communications equipment.
• Develops and follows test procedures to verify system functionality and debugging.
• Contributes to factory/site acceptance tests and analyzes issues.
• Creates and reviews technical documentation supporting production builds.

Key Tasks

• Hands-on integration of software and hardware components including software installation and configuration, network configuration, and telecommunications hardware integration.
• Implements and validates IT system solutions for networking, computing, and our propriety communications equipment including conceptional, functional, and physical views.
• Develops and follows test procedures to verify system functionally and perform system debug.
• Develops and conducts factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, failure location and analysis.
• Creates and reviews technical documentation supporting production build (e.g., rack layouts, cable plans, system layouts, system configuration, build of materials, build plans/instructions).
• Collaborates with internal teams (e.g., program management, hardware & software development, solution architects, test engineering, field engineering, production) for total project success.
• Supports system production team to troubleshoot and solve production issues.
• Participates in on-site installations, integration, testing and maintenance activities.
• Analyzes site and contract information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and systems that will provide capability for proposed project or work load, efficient operation, and effective use of allotted space.
• Ensures adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• May participate in remote system monitoring, maintenance, and tier 2 on call support.
• Full-time onsite at client site.

Key Qualifications

• BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience with IT systems and engineering.
• 3-9 years’ experience in Systems Engineering integrating, deploying, and supporting integrated hardware and software solutions in the area of networking and communications.
• Demonstrates the ability to implement and apply best-practice system engineering concepts.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary

Salary Range: $90,000 to $130,000
