Job summary

H&H in Boston, MA is seeking a Mid-level Structural Engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing structural and bridge construction plans for state and municipal structures, performing calculations, and coordinating with the design team.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering, MA PE, 8+ years of experience (11+ preferred), and proficiency in MicroStation/AutoCAD with knowledge of AASHTOWare, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Eight+ years of experience required, 11+ years preferred.
  • Massachusetts PE is required or preferred.
  • Exposure to MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of structural software such as AASHTOWare, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, and Mathcad.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare structural and bridge construction plans for State and Municipally Owned structures under the supervision of a lead engineer.
  • Complete engineering computations to support the development of detailed plans and construction documents.
  • Adhere to quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with other members of the design team.
  • Direct and mentor team members in the development of design plans, technical oversight, specifications, design calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, etc.
  • Site visits for data collection in support of design work.
