Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Boston, MA is seeking a senior engineer to oversee design calculations, technical reports, and project plans for major infrastructure programs in New England. You will mentor staff, coordinate with clients, and guide multidisciplinary teams to meet schedules and budgets.

The role requires a strong background in structural analysis, bridge/tunnel design, and project leadership across complex projects with MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT or Massport collaborations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience or Master’s with 7 years or PhD with 6 years.
• PE certification in MA and RI is preferred/required.
• Experience with bridge projects for MassDOT, MBTA, RIDOT and Massport.
• Ability to mentor and review junior staff; lead complex, multi-discipline projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical expertise across broad engineering solutions.
• Lead discipline planning, work distribution, and schedule/budget adherence on complex projects.
• Assist in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develop scopes of work and manage scope/effort for complex projects.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of the project team’s deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
• Coordinate with clients and partners across disciplines on large projects.
• Lead discipline delivery on multi-disciplinary programs.
