Job summary

Contract Specialties Group is seeking a motivated Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Hauppauge, NY. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through validation and transition to production, focusing on high-reliability power electronics for demanding environments.

The role requires a strong foundation in analog circuit design, power electronics, and hands-on lab work with test equipment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3–7 years of relevant industry experience.
Strong foundation in analog circuit design and power electronics.
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium).
Laboratory skills with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power analyzers.
Familiarity with EMI/EMC principles and mitigation techniques.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test analog and power electronic circuits (AC-DC/DC-DC).
Select components, capture schematics, and support PCB layout with EMI/thermal focus.
Run circuit simulations and analyze performance under varying conditions.
Develop validation and qualification test plans including derating.
Troubleshoot hardware at board and system level and perform root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Support transition from prototype to production with docs and procedures.
Participate in design reviews and drive process improvements.
Interface with customers for product deployment.
