Job summary

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP seeks an associate to support its Nuclear & Fusion Energy practice, with opportunities to engage with the broader Energy Infrastructure Projects group.

The role focuses on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial, procurement, development, and project agreements, while supporting energy project development, financing, and regulatory matters related to nuclear energy, fusion, and other advanced energy projects.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in transactional, commercial, project development, and/or finance work.
• Ability to own and manage substantive workstreams and client relationships.
• Experience in nuclear energy, advanced reactors, fusion, or highly regulated infrastructure valued but not required.
• Engineering or technical background, prior military experience, or security clearances valued but not required.
• Prior or current Am Law 100 firm experience preferred.

• Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial, procurement, development, supply, and other project agreements.


• The associate will support energy project development, financing, commercial transactions, nuclear fuel and supply arrangements, and regulatory, licensing, adjudicatory, appellate, compliance, and export control matters related to energy projects.


• Work involves advanced nuclear, small modular reactor, fusion, and other emerging energy and infrastructure projects.


• Candidates should possess a strong foundation in transactional, commercial, project development, and/or finance work, demonstrating comfort in owning and managing substantive workstreams and client relationships.


• Prior experience in nuclear energy, advanced reactors, fusion, or other highly regulated infrastructure is valued but not required.


• An engineering or technical background, prior military experience, or existing security clearances are valued but not required.


• Prior or current experience at an Am Law 100 firm is preferred.
