Job summary

State of Colorado is hiring for a medical professional to provide acute, chronic, and emergency care to inmates in a clinical setting within Denver facilities. The role involves performing physical exams, diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications per CDOC guidelines, and delivering comprehensive care across shifts and emergencies.

Applicants must hold valid APN or PA licensure in Colorado and be willing to obtain full prescriptive authority within six months.

Qualifications

• Current, valid licensure as Advanced Practice Nurse/NP or Physician Assistant in Colorado.
• APN specialty must be General Family Practice (FNP) or AGPCNP, or PA specialty in Family Medicine/General Practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for inmates in clinical settings (clinic, infirmary, or special needs facility).
• Prescribe medications per CDOC formulary and guidelines; perform sick calls and emergency/ chronic care clinics.
• Attend rounds, review lab and imaging results, and coordinate with outside providers to ensure continuity of care.
