Job summary

MP Engineers + Architects seeks a Mid-Level MEP Engineer with 3–7 years of experience for commercial, residential, mixed-use, and facilities projects in New York. You will design and develop MEP systems, prepare construction documents, and coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering.
• 3–7 years of MEP/building systems design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong understanding of building MEP systems and applicable codes.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and develop coordinated construction documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop MEP systems for commercial, residential, mixed-use, and facilities projects.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, specifications, calculations, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform and review HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building-system design calculations.
• Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct site surveys and evaluate existing building/facility conditions.
• Review submittals and respond to technical comments.
• Assist with construction administration and site inspections.
• Apply NY/NJ building codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA requirements.
• Work independently while coordinating with senior engineers and project managers.
• Support project schedules, budgets, quality control, and client deliverables.
