Job summary

MP Engineers + Architects in New York is seeking an early‑career MEP engineer to assist in designing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial and residential buildings. You will help prepare drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, support layouts and calculations, and participate in coordination with other disciplines.

The role emphasizes field surveys, documentation, and collaboration with senior engineers to meet project schedules and code requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0–3 years of MEP/building design experience; internships or co-op welcome.
• Basic knowledge of building MEP systems and engineering design principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and development of MEP systems for commercial and residential buildings.
• Prepare and modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building-system layouts and calculations.
• Support preparation of construction documents, design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Perform field surveys and document existing building conditions.
• Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other disciplines.
• Assist senior engineers with project coordination, site visits, and construction administration.
• Review applicable building codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and meet project schedules.
