Job summary

MP Engineers + Architects seeks an experienced MEP Engineer with 5+ years of designing and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for commercial, transit, and data center projects in NY/NJ. The role involves hands-on design, calculations, reports, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, ready to work closely with architects and engineers to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in MEP design for commercial, transit, and/or data center projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems.
• Experience working on projects in NY/NJ region with familiarity of local codes and standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop MEP systems for commercial buildings, transit infrastructure, and data centers.
• Prepare calculations, layouts, specifications, and technical reports for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Perform load calculations, energy analysis, and system sizing for various building types.
• Review drawings, shop drawings, and submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and codes.
• Support construction administration, including site visits, RFIs, and field issue resolution.
• Ensure designs comply with NYC/NJ codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Engineer with 5+ years of experience in the design and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems across commercial, transit, and data center projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, hands-on design experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.

• Prior experience with transit agencies (MTA, NJ Transit, Amtrak, etc.) is a plus.
