Job summary

Qualifications

• Coding credential from an accredited organization is required.
• AHIMA or AAPC credentials preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and CPT rules.
• Understanding of NCCI policies and HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to work as a team and maintain productivity.

Responsibilities

• Coding ICD-10-CM to the highest level of specificity.
• Code outpatient procedures according to CPT guidelines.
• Attach HCPCS modifiers for billing when appropriate.
• Query physicians for clarification when information is ambiguous.
• Utilize 3M coding software and references for accuracy.
