Job summary

DHR Health is seeking an experienced medical coder to review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to assign ICD-10-CM codes for outpatient encounters. The role involves ensuring accurate coding for billing, reporting, and regulatory compliance, with adherence to AHIMA guidelines and HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical coding, medical terminology and anatomy and physiology required.
• Reasoning ability and independent judgment.
• Ability to perform productive research quickly.
• Understanding of health insurance laws, ethics and HIPAA.
• Experience with coding software (3M encoder preferred).

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values in services and practices.
• Accurately codes outpatient procedures according to ICD-10-CM, CPT and APC guidelines.
• Code outpatient records (EMR, Radiology, Series, RMF Clinics).
• Attach HCPCS Level I and II modifiers for billing.
• Meet volume requirements of 120-150 accounts coded daily; 95% accuracy in charts.
