Grow Your Skills, Grow Your Potential

Our Digital Experience area is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to support the continued development, modernization, and operational health of the Personal Lines Modernization Auto Quote & Buy application. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of new customer‑facing capabilities across the native UI and supporting Java Spring Boot APIs, while maintaining a strong focus on application health, reliability, resiliency, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering skills with an analytical, investigative mindset and the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues across multiple integrated systems. In addition to feature development, this engineer will play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve application stability, reduce recurring errors, enhance automated testing, and improve the team's ability to efficiently diagnose production incidents.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain customer‑facing capabilities within the PL Mod Auto Quote & Buy UI.
  • Develop and enhance Java Spring Boot backend APIs and integrations with supporting utility APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver new capabilities, enhancements, and state rollout requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues spanning frontend, backend, and integrated systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure development aligns with established architectural standards, security requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • Application Health, Reliability & Resiliency: Take a proactive role in evaluating and improving the overall health and stability of the Auto Quote & Buy application.
  • Automated Testing & Quality Improvements: Conduct in-depth analysis of existing AATs (automated acceptance tests) to identify coverage gaps, unreliable tests, and opportunities for refinement.
  • Incident Analysis & Operational Troubleshooting: Investigate recurring application errors that create confusion or inefficiencies during production incident triage.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration & Technical Ownership: Work closely with AutoQuoteAPI, PolicyCenter, and other integrated application teams to resolve cross‑system technical issues.
Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of application architecture, distributed systems, and service‑to‑service integrations.
  • Experience debugging complex application issues across multiple technology layers.
  • Familiarity with automated acceptance testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
