Job summary

Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research is seeking an Instructional Designer II to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions supporting workforce capability and mission objectives.

You will translate complex scientific content into learner-centered materials, ensure accessibility, and collaborate across Learning & Development, scientists, engineers and business partners to deliver high-quality training programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Educational Technology or a related field.
• Four+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development or related work.
• Demonstrated experience designing instructor-led, virtual and e-learning programs.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional systems design methodologies.
• Experience using instructional authoring tools and learning technologies.
• Experience defining and developing SCORM and 508-compliant products.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and revise ILT, vILT, blended, self-paced and e-learning courses.
• Conduct learning needs analyses and identify performance gaps.
• Develop objectives, strategies, storyboards, and course materials.
• Translate technical information into engaging learning experiences.
• Develop materials such as guides, modules, job aids and assessments.
• Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to deliver integrated learning solutions.
