Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned infrastructure and platform operations professional to join our San Antonio team. You will help manage Snowflake-based data platforms, design scalable IT infrastructure, and drive automation across deployment and operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education/experience.
4 years of infrastructure experience across disciplines.
2 years of experience building/maintaining infrastructure components.
Knowledge of scalable IT system design, changes, and automation.
Understanding of cloud technologies and Snowflake in production.
Experience with data warehouse platforms and analytics.
Scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash.
Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD, and DevOps.
Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
US immigration not required; no visa sponsorship.

Job description

Contribute to the engineering, automation, and platform operations of the Snowflake platform
Improve platform reliability and implement automation solutions
Support cloud modernization and AI enablement initiatives
Partner with engineering, security, and business teams to deliver scalable data platform capabilities
Design, implement, maintain, and support infrastructure and platform solutions for enterprise data, analytics, and AI services
Balance availability, security, scalability, efficiency, and functional requirements
Identify, manage, elevate, monitor, and control existing and emerging risks
Design scalable IT system infrastructure and implement system changes
Automate service delivery and maintenance tasks
Build monitoring and tooling for systems
Resolve complex technology production issues through IT systems troubleshooting
Analyze complex outages and identify system improvement opportunities
Evaluate potential technology solutions
Mentor junior engineers and guide peers on engineering practices, platform operations, and problem solving
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions and CI/CD pipelines
Automate platform deployment and operational processes

Requirements

Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
4 years of infrastructure experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding within a specific discipline(s)/technology(s), or applicable IT experience such as IT Management, Software Development, Data Engineering, and Agile Product/Release Management
2 years of experience creating, modifying, and maintaining infrastructure and individual system components
Proficient level of business acumen in business operations, risk management, industry practices, and emerging trends
Knowledge and understanding of designing scalable IT system infrastructures, implementing system changes, or automating service delivery and maintenance tasks
Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools
Experience administering or supporting Snowflake in a production environment
Experience supporting cloud-native or SaaS platforms
Experience with database administration, data platform engineering, or platform operations
Experience developing automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Exposure to public cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Knowledge of monitoring, observability, incident management, and operational support practices
Understanding of security, access management, governance, and compliance concepts
Experience supporting data warehousing, analytics, or enterprise data platforms
