Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in privacy or technology regulatory counseling.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills.
• Membership in or eligibility for the D.C. Bar.
• Experience in health and life sciences privacy compliance preferred.
• Familiarity with health privacy laws is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Develop privacy compliance programs under HIPAA, state health privacy laws, and other regulations.
• Enhance privacy compliance programs, including governance structures and risk assessments.
• Advise clients on legal implications of data uses and flows.
• Negotiate agreements, including HIPAA business associate and data processing agreements.
• Support client counseling on privacy issues in product development and research.
• Manage workstreams and participate in client calls and presentations.
