Job summary

KERAMIDA Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Design Engineer to join our Design Engineering team in Pittsburgh. You will design natural gas regulator stations, POD facilities, and related pipeline infrastructure, delivering complete design packages and calculations.

The role requires 3–6 years in natural gas utility design or related infrastructure, an ABET-accredited degree, and potential EIT/PE licensure. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers on projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or related Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
3–6 years of engineering experience in natural gas utility design or related infrastructure.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred, or ability to obtain.
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

Lead or support the engineering design of natural gas regulator stations, POD facilities, valve settings, and associated pipeline infrastructure.
Prepare complete design packages including construction drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, bills of materials, and construction details.
Perform engineering calculations related to gas flow, pressure regulation, regulator sizing, piping design, and overpressure protection.
Coordinate with survey, environmental, permitting, civil, structural, electrical, and construction personnel throughout project development.
Review client standards and ensure designs comply with applicable federal, state, local, and utility requirements.
Develop project cost estimates, equipment lists, and material takeoffs.
Participate in design review meetings with clients and provide engineering recommendations.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during project execution.
