Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mid-Level Estimator in Rockland, MA to join a growing commercial construction team. This on-site, permanent role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for diverse projects, reviewing drawings, specs, and bid documents, and collaborating with PMs, subs, and vendors to develop competitive bids.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analyses.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop complete bid proposals and assist with tender submissions.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors throughout the preconstruction process.
• Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and estimating records.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project handovers as required.

They are currently looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team. This is an opportunity to join a growing construction organization and play a key role in the preconstruction process, working on projects from initial plans and specifications through final bid.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of estimating experience within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines.
• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
