Join to apply for the Mid-Level Electrical Engineer role at POWER Engineers.

POWER Engineers, a member of WSP, is currently seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to work with our Government Services Division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of an engineering team engaged in projects related to mission-critical infrastructure, including power delivery, generation, distribution, backup power, UPS, system studies, renewable energy, and MEP design.

Key skills include excellent communication, presentation, motivation, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will contribute to developing a sustainable electrical department, working directly with clients, and driving projects to successful completion within budget and schedule.

Responsibilities include creating construction drawings and specifications, conducting studies, and demonstrating knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, surge protection, lighting, relaying, power generation, switchgear, substations, and UPS systems. Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, ICC, UFC, energy codes, and IEEE standards is required. Experience with electrical system modeling and power studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower is preferred. Candidates who are licensed professional engineers in electrical engineering are highly desirable.

Note: The role may be remote full-time, with periodic travel to POWER offices as needed.

Minimum Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience with federal government projects and standards (UFC, UFGS, NEC, ICC).
• At least 5 years of applicable experience in designing low and medium-voltage power and lighting systems for federal and industrial buildings.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong communication skills, willingness to travel, and U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Education/Experience:

• Professional Engineering license and ability to be licensed in multiple states.
• Experience with NAVFAC and USACE standards, SpecsIntact, and security clearance.
• Experience in mission-critical infrastructure projects and proficiency with CAD/BIM tools like AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation.
