Mid-Level Electrical Engineer

POWER Engineers, member of WSP, is currently seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to work with our Government Services Division. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an engineering team engaged in projects such as power delivery, generation, distribution, backup power, UPS, renewable energy, and MEP design, primarily for government clients.

Core skills include excellent communication, presentation, motivation, and multitasking abilities. The successful candidate will help develop a sustainable electrical department, working directly with clients and driving projects to successful completion within budget and schedule.

Responsibilities include:

1. Create and issue construction drawings and specifications, reports, and studies.
2. Demonstrate good working knowledge of grounding, lightning and surge protection, lighting, relaying, power generation, switchgear, substations, and UPS systems.
3. Apply standards such as NEC, NFPA, ICC, UFC, energy codes, and IEEE.
4. Experience with electrical system modeling and power studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower is preferred.
5. Licensure as a professional engineer in electrical engineering is preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in power and lighting system design for federal and industrial buildings.
• Experience with federal projects and standards (UFC, UFGS, NEC, ICC).
• Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills, willingness to travel, and US citizenship.

Desired Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering license, preferably in multiple states.
• Experience with NAVFAC, USACE standards, and SpecsIntact.
• Security clearance eligibility.
• Experience in mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation.
