Job summary

Ryder in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles on the 3:00 pm–11:30 pm shift. This role offers comprehensive benefits, including paid training and bonus opportunities, with weekly pay.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electronic issues, and work with diagnostic tools while following safety and DOT guidelines. CDL may be required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Must have basic tools.
• Experience with mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
