Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas/diesel engines.
• Routine preventive maintenance incl. oil changes, brake and tire work.
• 2+ years of related classroom training/experience.
• CDL CLASS A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical/electronic problems with diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures and performs repairs.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines.
