Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Winston-Salem, NC, offering $27.00 per hour, a second shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, and a comprehensive benefits package. Expect certification bonuses and quarterly bonuses, with weekends off and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Must have basic tools.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Preventive maintenance experience.
• Two years or more of related training/experience.
• CDL Class A preferred; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Works in accordance with all safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations.
