Torch Technologies, Inc. seeks a Mid-Level Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer for the IAMDSIM team in Huntsville, AL. You will design, develop, and integrate real-time and digital simulation models within a distributed system of systems, collaborating with engineers and analysts to deliver reliable simulation products.

The ideal candidate has strong skills in Java, C++, Python, Git, and container technologies, plus the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively in a team. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5 years applicable software design engineering experience.
• Experience developing software using Java and C++.
• Experience developing, integrating, testing, and analyzing software applications, component models, or simulations.
• Proficiency using Git for source-code version control and collaboration.
• Experience using Docker containers to package, deploy, configure, or maintain software applications.
• Ability to develop and maintain software interfaces and integrate component-level software into larger systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software development, integration, test, deployment, and performance issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Modeling & Simulation Software Development: Design, develop, modify, and maintain software applications, component models, and simulation services.
• M&S Infrastructure Development: Develop, configure, and maintain modeling and simulation infrastructure and tools.
• Component Model Integration: Integrate missile defense component models into larger environments and resolve interoperability issues.
• Software Testing & Analysis: Develop and execute unit, integration, regression, and system tests.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose, document, and resolve complex software and runtime issues.
• Containerization & Deployment: Use Docker containers to package, deploy, and maintain applications.
• Configuration Management: Use Git and CM processes to manage source code and releases.
• Engineering Team Collaboration: Work with engineers and analysts to define requirements and deliver products.
